Michael P. Meotti  
   

Image As President of CPEC, Michael P. Meotti  has integrated technology into the Council's activities.  Connecticut magazine named www.cpec.org to its "Top 50 Web Sites in Connecticut" and Mass High Tech recognized it as a "Pick of the Week."  CPEC's City Scan project has won a "MOBY", a national award for mobile computing technology, and national web-based media coverage for its innovative use of technology to improve community quality of life.

Mr. Meotti is a member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Plan Association (RPA) in New York and serves on the Governor's Council on Technology and Economic Competitiveness and the Statewide Advisory Committee of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC).  Mr. Meotti previously chaired the Connecticut Economic Conference Board and a task force of the Department of Higher Education that examined the state's policy on tuition and financial aid. 

Mr. Meotti served in federal, state and local government. He was elected to four terms in the Connecticut State Senate, where he served as Assistant Majority Leader, chair of the Transportation and Environment committees, and as a member of the Appropriations Committee. Before his election to the Senate, he was active in local government in Glastonbury, Connecticut where he served on the Board of Education for four years and the Town Council for three years.

In the private sector, Mr. Meotti has been the General Counsel of the Insurance Association of Connecticut and Counsel in the Law Department of The Travelers Insurance Companies.

Mr. Meotti is a graduate of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and the Georgetown University Law Center. He resides in West Hartford, Conn., with his wife and two daughters.

Edward Arroll Borden

Mr. Borden is the New Britain City Scan Project Coordinator and resident GIS & mapping guru. Prior to joining CPEC, Arroll worked as a planning consultant developing plans of conservation and development for communities in Connecticut. In addition to his planning background, he has extensive knowledge in computer mapping technologies. He has a BS in Political Science from Drew University and a MS in Urban Planning and Development from Southern Connecticut State University.

Malia Sieve

Malia Sieve is the Project Director of CPEC's Community Research and Program Evaluation Unit.

Prior to coming to CPEC, Malia was a research assistant at the University of Connecticut-School of Social Work where she worked on a state-funded project profiling court-involved girls. She also worked on projects funded by the National Institute of Justice evaluating domestic violence programs in Connecticut.

Ms. Sieve received her BS in Human Development and Family Relations from the University of Connecticut and her MSW from the University of Connecticut-School of Social Work where she concentrated on social policy and planning and minored in research.

Laurel J. Anderson

Laurel Anderson is the Fairfield County City Scan Project Director for CPEC.

Laurel Anderson brings years of business and non-profit management experience to CPEC. Before serving as the Executive Director of the Women's Campaign School at Yale, she was the Vice President and C.O.O. for two air transportation corporations based in New York. Ms. Anderson currently serves on the board of the Womens Campaign School at Yale and the Bridgeport League of Women Voters. She is past president and current VP of Program and Finance for the Bridgeport Area Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and is CT AAUW State Legal Advocacy Fund Chairperson. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut.



Thanh Ly

Thanh Ly serves as Lead Developer for CPEC, developing applications for mobile devices as well as desktop computers.

A graduate of William H. Hall High School in West Hartford, Thanh has worked closely with the City Scan team to extend the channels of communication between citizens and their municipal governments.

Thanh brings to CPEC experience in programming languages including Java and C++, while also offering valuable web development and network administration skills.

Sean Ghio

A City Scan Project Coordinator, Sean is responsible for implementing City Scan ande other CPEC initiatives in Hartford as well as promoting City Scan statewide.

Prior to joining CPEC, Sean served as the director of a Main Street program in New Hampshire and as a town planner concentrating on downtown revitalization.

Sean has a BA in Economics from Connecticut College.

Chastity Rodriguez Hamilton

Chastity Rodriguez Hamilton is the City Scan Outreach Coordinator for Hartford. Before coming to CPEC, Chastity served as a Youth Development Specialist in Hartford and as a district-wide Multicultural Educator in New York.

Chastity has a BA in African-American Studies from Columbia University and a MS in Elementary Education from the University of New Haven. She resides in Hartford.
 
Carmela Monte

Carmela Monte is the City Scan Project Coordinator for youth programs.

Previously, Carmela served as a Program Coordinator/Camp Director for an after-school tutoring and cultural enrichment program, which served over 150 Hartford students and their families year round. She also worked as a Cultural Coordinator in which she recruited, trained and placed volunteers in Hartford elementary schools for a nonprofit organization.

Carmela has a BS in Human Development and Family Relations with a concentration in Childhood and Adolecent Development from the University of Connecticut.

Erik N. Pettersen

Erik Pettersen is CPEC's Technology Coordinator.

Erik Pettersen brings project management, web design, and Internet application development experience to his role as CPEC's Technology Coordinator. Before joining CPEC in 2001, he worked as a Business Analyst for Electronic Data Services and as a Project Manager for Skandia Technology Center for several years. Mr. Pettersen has served as a Trustee for the Connecticut State University Board of Trustees. He has a BS in Communications from Eastern Connecticut State University.
